Pioneers from father to son

Located on the banks of the Moselle River in the heart of the village of Ahn, the Schmit-Fohl house was founded in the 18th century.
When Armand and Patrizia Schmit took over the management of the winery in 1985, they wanted to bring their vision and personality to what had been built by previous generations.

Innovation is not an end in itself. Rather, it is about experimenting, following an intuition, in light of the knowledge acquired, the terroir and the climatic conditions, without ever giving up anything of the authenticity that characterizes the wines.
In 2016, their eldest son Nicolas joined the family business and his brother Mathieu followed in 2019. Since 2017, all vineyards are farmed organically.
