Origin : Siegendorf / Leithaberg
Located south of the 47th parallel and east of the 16th meridian, at 176 meters above sea level in the Leithaberg wine region, Siegendorf features an excellent location for the production of powerful red wines.

The warm Pannonian climate, which prevails here due to the proximity of Lake Neusiedl, only four kilometers away, allows the grapes to ripen slowly until well into the fall. Together with the sandy-humic soils, this results in ideal conditions for viticulture.

The market town of Siegendorf, located 60 kilometers south of Vienna in the Leithaberg wine-growing region, was first mentioned in documents in 1254. Since 1988, Weinkellerei Lenz Moser has been cultivating the 24 hectares of vineyards.

For decades, the vineyards in Siegendorf have been managed according to the principles of environmentally conscious grape production: quality before quantity, organic fertilization, living soil. The proximity of Lake Neusiedl, the southwestern orientation of the vineyard and the Pannonian climate favor viticulture. The warm, sandy-humic soils are ideal for growing noble vines.

Ecology today
The environmentally friendly approach in the vineyard has also been extended to the production stages of cellar technology and packaging. According to the motto "wine should remain wine", a special procedure was developed during bottling. The wines are particularly carefully protected from contact with oxygen during all processes from barrel to bottle, allowing a much lower addition of preservative sulfur than would otherwise be possible. After all, this saves about 1,500 kilograms of sulfur annually.

Lenz Moser wine line
For decades, the winery's wines have stood for uncompromising quality from Austria's best wine-growing regions.
Then as now, Lenz Moser relies on the combination of tradition and innovation and the very good cooperation with local winegrowing families, who cultivate their vineyards with passion, experience and the supportive advice of the team around winery manager Michael Rethaller. The result is a diverse range of excellent wines with reasonable pricing.
