Since December 2006, the name BICHERHAISCHEN has been the name of a bookstore in the municipality of Niederanven, which aims to open the door to the world of books for children and young people.
Under the motto "small but nice", the BICHERHAISCHEN carries a wide range of books, most of which are offered in German. For the very little ones, there are selected cardboard picture books, picture books as well as fairy tale books and books for reading aloud. Pupils of the 1st and 2nd school year are introduced to the world of reading with special first reading books, and the somewhat older ones discover their favorite series here, as well as popular classics and many new publications. The latter also form a large part of the youth book and fantasy section. Furthermore, there are of course also Luxembourgish books as well as audio books and DVDs.
Monthly changing thematic focuses let you discover something new with every visit. The BICHERHAISCHEN also stocks birthday boxes and takes orders for adults. German books can usually be picked up within 24 hours!
In 2010 the BICHERHAISCHEN was enlarged with its new building SPILLGEZEI, where mainly wooden toys are sold.
