Class 5519 Steam Locomotive (DB class 42)
The 20 class 55 locomotives can be characterized as a DRG class 42 war locomotive, built in Austria in the post-war period and acquired as a bargain by the Luxembourg State Railroad CFL in 1948/49. They were able to demonstrate their efficiency above all in the transportation of heavy coal and ore trains. The 5519 was preserved after its retirement in 1964, initially as a memorial locomotive in Bettembourg. Taken from its base there in 1989, it has been in service as an operational CFL museum locomotive for special trips under steam since October 4, 1991 and often delights the hearts of steam locomotive enthusiasts in neighboring countries.

Black basic paint scheme with black wheels and red frame. With Witte wind deflectors of the standard design, leading wheelset with solid wheels, rail scraper with large blades, both lower headlights installed in the cylinder block at the front of the locomotive. No fire protection plate below the smokebox door. With a perimeter profile on the tender. Locomotive road number 5519. current operating condition.
