borders, building a common Europe: The class 181.2 dual-system locomotives ran to Luxembourg and France from 1974 in front of famous trains such as the "Mozart", the TEE "Goethe" or the sleeper train Moscow - Paris. For decades, the 181.2 pulled passenger and freight wagons from all over the world and changed the power systems simply but reliably: At the border, the locomotive driver retracted the German pantograph, overcame a section without power with momentum and finally put on the French pantograph. Incidentally, the elegant, low locomotive body was the result of the lower French overhead line. The fascinating 181.2 has made European history - and will continue to do so on many Trix
