Which slice is used for what?

You can individually adjust the slicing and grating thickness (approx. 3mm to 6mm) on the Food Processor attachment using the adjustment lever, even while slicing/grating. The cubes are 8mm in size.

Material and cleaning

The Food Processor attachment is made of BPA-free plastic and should not be put in the dishwasher or immersed in water. Cleaning is done with a warm, damp cloth without detergent. You can use mild soapy water to clean the various discs and the stainless steel blade, and the plastic plugger may be placed in the dishwasher. We recommend to wash the accessories by hand, because the tamper can become blind in the dishwasher and the slices lose their sharpness and this is not a reason for complaint on the part of the manufacturer! Know - How application tips

• If the Food Processor attachment makes a loud "crack" when you switch on the KitchenAid, don't worry! This has something to do with the square connection, because the gear of the attachment must first settle properly here. This harms neither the accessory nor the KitchenAid machine and is completely normal. So we can reassure you here and you can get started!

• If it does not work properly with the cutting and reaming, please check whether the raised side of the disc on the standard adapter is facing upwards. Check to see if it is also set to the desired thickness. Check again to make sure that the ingredients are suitable for slicing and grating.

• If the lid does not close when the disc is inserted, check that the disc is correctly inserted and fully seated on the disc adapter.

• When the clutch engages, you will hear a very loud click. Make sure that there are not too many ingredients in the Food Processor at the same time and please check if hard cores have been removed beforehand.

• For optimal cutting and grating results, also follow the instructions for use.

For great results with the Food Processor attachment, the speed and pressure with which you press the ingredients into the attachment is crucial. If you apply too much pressure with the tamper, the distance/gap between the lid and the disc will change and significantly more leftovers will get stuck.

For round vegetables or fruits, for example apples, we recommend peeling and coring them first, as the cores prevent the Food Processor attachment from working properly. Make sure that the feed spout is always well filled, so that the individual pieces cannot lie crosswise and thus not be processed properly.

Many ingredients, such as cooked meats, firm cheeses, tomatoes, or even hot peppers, are easier to process if they have been previously refrigerated/frozen. Ingredients should never be so hard chilled/frozen that you could not process them with a kitchen knife.
