Volnay - 1ier Cru 2014 - Domaine Jacques Prieur - Burgundy

Here the nose is similar to the regular cuvée, except the fruit is a bit riper. The old vines are evident as the bigger, richer flavors have better mid-palate concentration as the dry extract coats the palate and buffers the noticeably firmer finish that is both longer and more complex. I like the mouthfeel of this relatively robust effort that should reward over a decade of cellar time while still being approachable after 6-8 years.
