L The history of Viu Manent
The Viu family began its activities in the wine business as a merchant, and its brand, Vinos Viu, became very popular in the domestic market. In 1966, Miguel Viu Manent acquired a vineyard and winery in the Colchagua Valley, the San Carlos de Cunaco estate, whose vineyards date back to the mid-19th century.
In the early 1990s, Viu Manent completely modernized its production facilities, in order to compete in export markets. Today 95% of its production is exported to more than 30 different countries.
Viu Manent is one of the most reliable signatures of the old producers in Chile, with a range of wines mainly from its own vineyards in Colchagua, plus some contributions from Casablanca and Leyda.
