Thanks to Sony's virtual surround sound technology, the soundbar diffuses sound vertically. This means you can enjoy 3D sound without having to use upward-firing speakers or ceiling-mounted speakers. Vertical Surround Engine technology delivers more realistic multi-dimensional sound in other formats, such as Dolby Atmos and DTS:X.

Extended bass
Precise reproduction of low frequencies is energy-intensive and presents a risk of distortion (A). Clearer voices
The deeper the bass, the more the diaphragm moves. This can lead to an effect called phase modulation distortion when a full-range diaphragm reproduces high frequencies at the same time. Sony signal processing technology compensates for this effect for clear dialogue and accurate sound. The modulated waveform thus improves clarity and avoids vocal distortion. X-Balanced Speaker Unit
The integrated double subwoofer and front speakers are equipped with an X-Balanced Speaker Unit. The unique rectangular shape of these speakers optimizes the surface diaphragm for more intense bass. Diaphragm excursion is reduced and sound pressure maintained, limiting distortion and enhancing vocal clarity.

DSEE Extreme™ technology with Edge-AI (Artificial Intelligence) converts your compressed digital music files in real time.
