Sonubaits Spicy Sausage Halibut Pellets - 6mm

Halibut pellets are excellent baits for all capital fish, especially barbel and chub. We have taken this bait and enhanced it with our unique Spicy Sausage flavor.

This is the strongest of our flavors and is a proven fish guarantor. Ideal for use in high water and turbid conditions, the scent is strong enough to draw fish to your spot.

These deep red halibut pellets can be fed dry by basket. A common way is to use the 4mm version in a maggot basket, which allows the scent and some falling out pellets to be flushed downstream over the hookbait.

They can also be used with a mesh basket or river basket by simply soaking them with water. To do this, place the desired amount in a bait box and pour just enough water over it to cover the outside of the pellets. Then shake well. Then give the water 30 minutes to be completely absorbed by the pellets, shaking them well every 5 minutes so that the water is evenly distributed over the pellets. The pellets will soften slightly so that they can be pressed into a mesh basket.

The speed at which they release from the mesh basket can be affected by pressing them harder to keep them in the basket longer.

Generally, at the beginning of the fishing day, you should only press the pellets lightly into the basket, as the goal is to create a feeding area with bait, which will be more successful if the pellets can release from the basket more quickly. As the day progresses, you can then create competition among the fish for the bait by slowing down the speed at which the pellets come out of the basket.
