The GH test is used to precisely determine the total hardness in ponds, freshwater and saltwater aquariums. It is quick and easy to use and is sufficient for up to 70 individual measurements. The GH test measures to an accuracy of 0.5 °dH and covers a measuring range of 0.5 to 21 °dH. Instructions for determining the total hardness: 1. fill the test tube with 20 ml of aquarium or pond water (lower mark). 2. slowly drip in the indicator solution while constantly swirling. 3. count the drops until the color change from pink to blue is complete and no more recoloring takes place. 4. evaluation: number of indicator drops x 0.5 = GH in °dH. If the value determined is 5 °dH or more, the total hardness of the water is sufficient. If the value is below 5 °dH, the total hardness is too low. We recommend AquaStab for freshwater aquariums and GH-Plus for ponds. One drop of indicator solution corresponds to 0.5 °dH.
