Marseille soap

Ingredients

Olea europaea fruit oil, aqua, sodium hydroxyde, sodium chloride
(Olive oil, Water, Traces of soda extracted from sea salt)

Available with 100% olive oil in winter (for drying reasons) and until spring depending on stocks, it can be made up with a little coconut oil (Sodium cocoate) out of season. Guaranteed palm oil-free.

Good to know: Artisanal and authentic Marseille soap may present certain particularities linked to its production. Here are just a few examples:

Weight: The weight of the soap may vary, as it is measured on fresh soap which loses weight as it dries. For example, a 300g soap may weigh only 270g after drying. This does not affect the quality of the soap, and the more it dries, the better it is.

Degree of drying: Soap is produced on a just-in-time basis, so its degree of drying can vary according to the date of production. A newer soap will be wetter than an older one. If a soap seems too soft, simply let it air-dry.

White film: A white film may appear on quality unrefined soaps, depending on the moisture content. This is not mold, but a manufacturing residue. It can be removed by running the soap under water and rubbing it. It's a sign of quality.

Color: Soap color can vary according to the oils used. Olive-oil soaps lighten as they dry, while coconut-oil soaps can turn an orangey yellow. These variations are natural and typical of unrefined handmade soaps.
