There is probably no other tank that arouses such curiosity. It is surrounded by an aura of mystery, and the facts intermingle with the legends that have grown over the years. The Panzerkampfwagen VIII "MAUS" is a prototype of a German super-heavy tank from the Second World War. It was the heaviest and largest tank ever built. It weighed about 188 tons! The project was carried out in the years 1942-1944. Only two incomplete prototypes were built and never put into service. In April 1945, the Red Army captured both abandoned Maus prototypes, which were located at the Kummersdorf military training area. They were assembled into a vehicle with the hull of the first prototype and the turret of the second. This hybrid is still one of the main attractions of the tank museum in Kubinka near Moscow.
Panzer VIII "MAUS" is a very special model in the COBI collection! It was built in 1:28 scale right from the start and is 39 cm long. Removable covers on the turret and hull give you access to the detailed interior. Removable engine, opening hatches, movable barrel, working chain traction are further advantages of this set. The tank, presented in the factory as part of its construction, has been covered with high-quality prints that will not wear off even with intensive use.
"MAUS" is a must for lovers of history, armor and secrets of the Second World War. The beautiful and huge model will perfectly complement the collection of tanks and become its main element. Thanks to the intuitive instructions, it is easy to assemble, but due to the unique structure with the interior, a large number of elements and the time required to build the set, we recommend the model to slightly older builders.
