Syncro is the "ultimate" version of the Golf III VR6. It takes over the 2861 cm³ VR6 engine from the Corrado. This special version also has all-wheel drive. It produces 190 hp and reaches speeds of up to 225 km/h. The VR6 Syncro came onto the market in 1993 and accompanied the third-generation Golf until it was discontinued in 1997.
