This hand flatterer is an eye-catcher on any desk. Designed in Luxembourg.
The basic shape of the oloid was discovered by the sculptor and mechanical engineer Paul Schatz in 1929. The oloid is one of the few known solids whose surface as a whole forms a surface that can be unwound, and which also has many other geometric and mathematical properties. The basic shape was adapted so that the two perpendicularly intersecting circles are connected only by means of straight struts.
Properties of the Oloid :
- 3D printed from stainless steel
- Consists only of individual struts
- This shape can only be produced with the help of 3D printing
- Rolls in a tumbling motion
