LEGO® Education SPIKE™ Essential inspires elementary school pupils to discover STEM topics with their own hands. This playful, story-based learning experience is part of the LEGO learning system. It encourages students to explore STEM concepts while developing their language, math, social and emotional skills.

The 449-piece Set contains four minifigures with individual personalities. The minifigures act as storytellers to make problem solving tangible for all students. The set's easy-to-use hardware includes an intelligent hub with two connections, two small motors, a light matrix and a color sensor. By programming the hub using symbol and text-based blocks, the students' models are brought to life. The Set also contains a colorful selection of age-appropriate LEGO bricks and various spare elements. A sturdy storage box with color-coded sorting trays makes it easy to build and sort the pieces in class.

As part of the LEGO learning system, SPIKE Essential offers five learning units, each with eight 45-minute tasks tailored to the curriculum. Each task includes a comprehensive online lesson plan with extensions for math and language skills. There are also learning assessment tools and a range of illustrative videos. SPIKE Essential is accompanied by a comprehensive training program so that teachers can prepare themselves specifically for the successful use of the learning concept in their STEM lessons.
