An elegant and velvety Saint-Estèphe
The second wine from the historic and iconic Château Calon Ségur, the Marquis de Calon Ségur offers a unique expression of the great terroir of Saint-Estèphe, on the Left Bank of the Bordeaux region.
Crafted in line with the philosophy that drives this prestigious Grand Cru Classé from 1855, the Marquis de Calon Ségur is a wine made from a rigorous selection of parcels featuring vines that are on average 22 years old. From the vineyard to the cellar, meticulous attention is given at every stage by the technical teams expertly led by Vincent Millet, the technical director since 2006, with vinifications conducted under the watchful eye of the experienced consulting oenologist Éric Boissenot. The Marquis de Calon Ségur is aged for a period of 17 months, with 30% in new barrels.
A great wine from Saint-Estèphe, the Marquis de Calon Ségur 2017 is a blend composed of Merlot (57%), Cabernet Sauvignon (38%), and Cabernet Franc (5%). A Saint-Estèphe with a sunny personality and velvety roundness, showcasing great finesse on the palate.
