Mineral substrates with a particularly high density and low absorbency, such as concrete, require a special primer before applying plaster, as this would otherwise not adhere properly. These include, in particular, foil-formed in-situ concrete, solid concrete ceilings made of building elements or stripped precast concrete surfaces. Knauf Betokontakt forms a non-slip film on dense, smooth concrete surfaces and thus provides a 'bonding bridge' for the plaster. This allows the plaster material to adhere better to the concrete. Another advantage: it also ensures ideal strength development of the plaster. The special primer has been optimized for gypsum-based plasters: you can use it before applying gypsum, thin gypsum and gypsum lime plasters (e.g. Knauf Rotband, Knauf MP75, Knauf Multi-Finish) and Knauf Perlfix. Knauf Betokontakt is open to vapor diffusion: it absorbs moisture from the air and releases it again if the room air is too dry. This ensures a healthy indoor climate and prevents damage to building components. Another plus point: the compound is ready to use and therefore always has the optimum consistency. It is also solvent-free, which makes it easier to work with. Particularly practical: As the primer is colored red, you can check much more easily whether you have applied it evenly or whether you need to repaint certain areas. Knauf Betokontakt can be used on interior walls and ceilings. Approx. 250 g to 350 g are used per m². This means that you can cover approx. 2.8 m² to 4 m² with a 1 kg container.
