For example, KARAWAN initiated the 'OYA' (textile jewelry) chain by co-developing the project and collections with the craftswomen in Turkey.

This development has enabled us to professionalize some thirty women, and to provide them with a fair and regular income. These jewels are exclusive creations developed by KARAWAN. Previously, this know-how was purely domestic, used as a hobby for evening gatherings between women at home.

These jewels are the result of an encounter between Turkish tradition and the eye of designer Christine DELPAL. KARAWAN initiated this business by co-developing the project and collections with craftswomen in Anatolia, Turkey. This development has led to the professionalization of some 30 women, ensuring them today a fair and regular income.

Since 2010, these 30 women from the surrounding villages have joined forces to train young people and organize year-round production. The collections are regularly renewed.
