The locomotives of the 2095 series, procured from 1958, formed the backbone of the diesel-powered narrow-gauge lines of the ÖBB. On July 1, 2008, the state of Salzburg took over the Pinzgauer Lokalbahn from the ÖBB and with it some of the 600 HP and roughly 60 km/h locomotives. Since March 2021 the Vs 73 has been leased to the Zillertalbahn.
