Description

H0 Märklin 39425 Class ICM-1 "Koploper" Electric Multiple Unit DCC Sound MFXEurocity

67 "Admiraal de Ruyter"
The NS class ICM (InterCityMaterieel) is an electric multiple unit for fast, comfortable intercity service. They are popularly known as Koploper (literally "head runner") because of the transitions at the front of the carriages. The driver's cab is located in a panoramic pulpit above the gangway, which gives these coaches a very beefy look and is as typical of the Netherlands as the Dutch cheese and at Märklin as the "Hoek van Holland". Until 2005, it was possible to change from one train section to the other during the journey. In 1983, Talbot began series production of a three-part railcar in Aachen, designated as ICM-1 type, train no. 4011-4050. From no. 4051, the type designation changed to ICM-2. From 1990, the (previously three-part) ICMs were delivered as four-part units (series ICM-3 and ICM-4). The prototype of the model 39425 corresponds to the use of Koploper 4015 in 1987 as Eurocity 67 "Admiraal de Ruyter" Amsterdam - London for the route in the Netherlands to Hoek van Holland.

prototype: Three-car electric multiple unit as Intercity multiple unit class ICM-1 "Koploper" of the Dutch Railways (NS). Yellow/blue basic paint scheme in the standard version. 1 motor car as a 2nd class mBk end car. 1 AB 1st/2nd class center car. 1 cab control car as a 2nd class sBk end car. Train destination display "Hoek van Holland". Multiple unit car road number 4015. Era IV operating condition, as delivered from 1984 to 1988.
