Since the beginning of the 17th century, the Folle Blanche grape variety has contributed greatly to the reputation of cognac by producing mellow, intense and bouqueted eaux-de-vie. Following the phylloxera crisis, Folle Blanche, once grafted, became difficult to cultivate: once the most widespread grape variety in the Charente region, it is now a very rare variety, representing about 1% of the cognac vineyard. To find the intensity of this cognac, we keep a plot of Folle Blanche which, in good years, will be harvested, then the wine distilled and aged with particular care. This "XO Folle Blanche" cognac is bottled without adding sugar and its color is natural.
