Description

Brut: the Cuvée brut is the one that embodies the style of the Faccoli house. It is therefore the equivalent of a brut non-millésimé champenois. Grapes: Chardonnay, Pinot Nero and Pinot Bianco In 1995, Franciacorta obtained the DOCG - Denominazione d'Origine Controllata Garantita - and became the first Italian dry brut to receive this appellation.
Franciacorta is a region of Lombardy (Northern Italy) south of Lake Iseo in the Brescia region. Its name derives from Curtes francae, the name given to the communities of French Benedictine monks who came to settle in the region.
This region is one of the oldest regions in Italy for the production of sparkling wines. These wines undergo a double fermentation and a two-year maturation process, which makes them relatively expensive to produce compared to other Italian sparkling wines. They are made from a blend of chardonnay and pinot, and are generally available in different typologies, brut (80% chardonnay and 20% pinot blanc), rosé (75% chardonnay and 25% pinot noir) or Sateen (50% chardonnay and 50% pinot blanc).
