Domaine Grand-Chemin - Vin du Pays d'Oc ... Winegrowers from father to son ...

Discover an exceptional terroir...
Only a few kilometers from Uzès and Anduze, at the gateway to the Cevennes and the famous Pont du Gard site, Jean Marc and Emmanuel Floutier, independent winegrowers, cultivate with respect the 70 hectares of vines passed down from generation to generation on clay-limestone soils.

Winegrowers for more than 300 years, the descendants of the Floutier family produce varietal wines and remarkable blended wines with the Pays d'Oc, Cévennes and Duché d'Uzès Protected Designation of Origin.
The vineyard is located in two distinct communes: Savignargues and Aigremont. No less than thirteen different grape varieties are grown at the Grand-Chemin estate. Among which : Syrah, Cabernet-Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, Grenache Gris, Cinsault, Chardonnay, Sauvignon, Viognier

...

Between the sea and the mountains ...
To the warm and sunny days of the Mediterranean climate are added the cool nights of the Piemont Cévenol. This geographical situation gives the vineyard an ideal microclimate to produce wines with intense aromas.

Our environmental commitment ...
Concerned about preserving the environment and the health of its employees, the winemaker has been committed for many years to sustainable agriculture. The estate is also a member of the Terr'Avenir association, certified ISO 14001 since April 2012.
Our objectives : Reduce herbicide inputs by returning to tilling the soil / Grassing the edges of plots to limit runoff of products into the water / Bringing equipment and premises up to standard / Better management of solid and liquid waste

Traditional winemaking ...
Equipped with the latest techniques, Emmanuel Floutier leaves the greatest part to the natural physical process: respect for the grape and control of temperatures in the fermentation tanks, so many notions in order to preserve the finesse, liveliness and fragrance to wine

The Pays d'Oc PGI: the assurance of quality!
The PGI (Protected Geographical Indication) is an official sign of identification of agricultural products linked to their geographical origin and respecting strict specifications.
Since August 1, 2009, the "Vins de Pays" (VDP) of France have been recognized as a Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) by the European Union.
The Protected Geographical Indication allows a certain amount of freedom and gives the winegrower the possibility to express his creativity by using various grape varieties to elaborate original blends.

For the Pays d'Oc winegrowers, this recognition of an official sign of quality crowns thirty years of work in the Pays d'Oc production area. This new label integrates in its specifications the innovative concept of varietal wines. It is the identity base of the Pays d'Oc with 58 authorized grape varieties. The PGI wines are subject to precise specifications: regular controls are carried out on the grape varieties, the yields, the analytical and organoleptic properties of the wines. 100% of Pays d'Oc PGI wines are controlled and certified by the Bureau Veritas.
