Clos Rougeard ""Le Bourg- Saumur Champigny 2015 : Clos Rougeard has always been a domain apart in the Saumur-Champigny appellation. When most of the winegrowers took the side of a viticulture of output, wines not always irreproachable qualitatively, the Foucault brothers, Charly and Nady signed, as their ancestors before them, different wines, on the freshness and the velvety. A "haute couture" viticulture, small yields, long maturation in barrels, and vinification with indigenous yeasts have enabled this 10-hectare estate to produce terroir wines considered the most representative of the appellation with significant ageing potential (15 to 25 years). Very nice woody taste, a little vanilla, smoky and noble spices. Slightly menthol. Bloody, floral notes, peony, a little violet. Fleshy and precise mouth, very nice structuring tannins and a woody and elegant finish. Needs time, lots of time.
