Gran Cava de Oro has so far concentrated mainly on the domestic market in Mexico, with larger quantities exported only to the USA and Canada. Despite this, the brand is world-famous and is in high demand, especially among people returning to Mexico from Europe - but it has been extremely difficult to obtain due to the lack of an importer in this country. The Anejo is the second oldest quality from the house and impresses with an incomparable and complex taste - even outside of the vacation season.

What Gran Cava de Oro Anejo tastes like

This anejo tequila is distilled twice - like many good tequilas. What makes it so special is the storage: while "normal" tequilas are usually matured in ex-bourbon barrels, the Tequilera Puerta de Hierro uses ex-red wine barrels made from French white oak. This gives the Gran Cava de Oro Anejo its intense golden color and unique taste.

Its aromas of honey, nutmeg and black pepper, together with plenty of caramel and toasted oak, are already captivating on the nose. All of this can also be found on the palate, but is complemented by vanilla, red plums and cinnamon, which is also present in the long finish. Although this anejo makes outstanding cocktails, we strongly recommend drinking it neat, without water or ice. You will not regret it.
