An easy start with a user-friendly classic — the telescope

The astronomical telescope is a classic refractor, a so-called achromatic Fraunhofer refractor. The advantage of this proven telescope type: even beginners and even children find operation easy. In addition, the BRESSER Quasar scores with its modern, precisely coated optics and good imaging properties.

The comparison shows: With 80 mm aperture this telescope already collects 30% more light than a 70 mm telescope, and its resolving power is better too. So you can already admire first details on Mars through the Quasar. Additionally, 80 mm aperture and 900 mm focal length yield a large aperture ratio (aperture to focal length) of about 1 to 11.3 (F/11.3). The result: a very sharp image with good contrast. The long focal length makes the entry-level telescope a specialist for observing the Moon, the Sun, planets, open star clusters and globular clusters. But many nebulae can also be observed with this telescope, such as the famous Orion Nebula M42 or the Ring Nebula M57.

And how large do you see the fascinating celestial bodies? Through the 80 mm aperture you achieve a resolving power that easily allows magnifications up to about 160x with truly sharp images. Technically there is still much more possible, and this is theoretically possible with the included accessories up to 675x. However, with increasing magnification the image sharpness can gradually decrease. In addition to the equipment, the current conditions also play a role: seeing in the atmosphere also determines how much you can magnify.

Stable stand for the easy astro-start — mount and tripod

Found the perfect place for your nightly explorations? Then install the telescope with the equatorial mount easily on the height-adjustable aluminum tripod. The advantage of this mount: unlike the azimuth mount you adjust the movement of celestial objects along one axis rather than along two. Then perform the so-called polar alignment by aligning one axis parallel to the Earth's axis. This is simple by roughly pointing at the North Star. The movement of the axes is helped by two flexible shafts with fine drive. This makes the setup and tracking of the beginner telescope very precise and comfortable. Practical tray: on a plate between the tripod legs you always place your accessories within reach.

Completely automatic: keep everything in view — for this equatorial EQ-3 mount the optional tracking motor with the article number 4951400 is available. With it you no longer need to track objects by hand. If this motor is installed on the mount, it automatically tracks the sky object and it stays in the field of view of the eyepiece. This makes observing the night sky even more comfortable!

Complete package for your sky observations — the accessories

With the extensive astronomy accessories including a safe solar filter you direct your gaze through the refractor day and night into the sky. For nighttime observations the LED finder helps you stay oriented: simply mount it parallel on the telescope, adjust and use it to align and locate astronomical objects. The red dot, projected inside onto a matte screen, seems to float in front of the sky — exactly where the telescope points. This helps you orient yourself optimally before you look more closely with the telescope’s higher magnification.

Different perspectives of your astronomical discoveries are enabled by the two eyepieces for different magnifications. With their 31.7 mm (1.25 inch) barrels they simply plug into the telescope’s eyepiece draw tube.

Want to see even more details? Then triple the magnification of the eyepieces with the 3x Barlow lens.

Always comfortable astro observations — hence the 90-degree zenith mirror. So you always have a comfortable view into the telescope. Even when pointing upward toward the sky you can simply look in from the side.

Let yourself be impressed by our own star: With the solar filter you can safely observe sunspots and granulation on the Sun. WARNING: Never point the telescope at the Sun without the solar filter!
