Its security properties discourage bike thieves: In addition to the extremely secure mechanism, one of the key features of the folding locks in the ABUS BORDO range, the BORDO™ Alarm 6000A is the world's first folding anti-theft device that signals attempted attacks at a volume of 100dB, thanks to the intelligent "3D Position Detection" motion sensor that detects the slightest movements in three dimensions. The sensors in the BORDO™ Alarm 6000A are able to distinguish between attempted picks and small vibrations that occur, for example, when the lock is closed or caused by a soccer ball: the lock then emits a brief warning signal, but does not trigger the alarm. Audible signals are also used to check the battery status and the activity status.
