Description

Straight feeding stuff for dogs and cats from certified organic farming!

The native Lunderland coconut oil comes from the 1st cold pressing of coconuts from certified organic farms in Sri Lanka. No monkeys are used to harvest the coconuts.

The oil is not refined, deodorized, hardened or bleached. This preserves the intense taste of fresh coconuts and the valuable ingredients. It should not be confused with so-called palm oils or coconut fats, which are usually industrially processed and have therefore lost their valuable nutritional properties.
Coconut oil is a vegetable oil that is solid at room temperature and has a melting point of around 20° to 25° C. If the oil is to be fed, this can be done in solid or liquid form. To apply it to the skin or coat, it is sufficient to take some oil in your hand and let it melt with your own body heat.

Coconut oil is rich in saturated fatty acid glycerides, which promotes a long shelf life. Nevertheless, like other oils, it should be stored in a cool, dark place. The feed portions are removed as a solid mass with a small spoon and added directly to the feed.

For external use, a spoonful of oil is taken, warmed and applied to the skin or rubbed into the coat. It makes the skin soft and supple, dull coats become shiny and much easier to comb.
Coconut oil has a repellent effect on insects, especially ticks and mosquitoes avoid contact with coconut oil, but only a certain "unattractiveness" of the dog or cat is achieved but not 100% protection against pests. Experience has shown that animals should be rubbed with the oil at least every two days, especially on the legs, stomach, neck and head.
For dogs, coconut oil can be mixed with black cumin oil, which also repels insects, and applied to the coat using a comb. Cats should only be treated with coconut oil due to its high content of essential oils (black cumin).

However, coconut oil can also be given as a daily feed supplement, alternating with other oils. Here, like fat in general, it serves to supply the animals with energy quickly.

Coconut oil is also recommended for worm prophylaxis and to help with worm infestations.

Our coconut oil comes from plantations where traditional agriculture is still practiced. The nuts are cracked by hand and processed manually before pressing (no use of working monkeys). The purification of fibers from the fruit skin is also not 100% guaranteed as it is in our processing plants. For this reason, tiny fibers from the nut skin that are not captured during filtration can remain in the white coconut oil. These residues are then often visible as small, dark spots at the bottom of the jar. They do not represent a quality defect.

Dosage recommendations:
For daily feeding: approx. 1 g / 10 kg body weight.
In case of worm infestation, 1 standard teaspoon (approx. 5 g) per 10 kg body weight for 1 week, then take a break for 1 week and then repeat the dose for 1 week. Coconut oil should be combined with other anthelmintic measures in case of worm infestation.
