Description
The project focuses on Luxembourgish linguistic culture, especially proverbs and expressions. Traditional Luxembourg sayings - which are tending to disappear - are confronted with pop culture and modern English quotations.
And the medium chosen also reflects the desire to revive these 'tote-bags', the cheap-looking cotton bags of the 80s and 90s, which are now becoming trendy accessories. With a traditional proverb on one side and an expression from contemporary English culture on the other, Esther Koenig revives and brings to life well-known sayings from her mother tongue, placing them in a trendy, contemporary context.
