Horse meat for the mineral-rich BARF diet used to be among the most popular delicacies. And even today, many gourmets, especially in Romance-language countries, enjoy this tender and easily digestible food. In prehistoric times, meat from wild horses formed the basis of a healthy diet for wolves—and, of course, the first dogs also enjoyed this easily digestible raw food.

If you want to feed your pet a species-appropriate diet to keep it healthy for as long as possible, the best choice is juicy horse meat from the hind leg. This relatively dark and robust raw meat for dogs and cats is very lean and particularly rich in minerals. It’s excellent for feeding because it contains a lot of protein, magnesium, iron, and the vitamins A, B1, B2, B6, B12 and E. The raw meat has a mildly sweet taste that our four-legged friends also appreciate.

Quinoa provides high-quality protein because all nine essential amino acids are present. In addition, quinoa contains fiber, vitamins (B1, B6, folic acid (B9) and vitamin E), minerals such as zinc, calcium, phosphorus, magnesium and iron, unsaturated fatty acids (Omega-3, 6 and 9) and even some antioxidants. Quinoa has a low glycemic index and meets the requirements for products that are gluten-free and free from the other EU-14 allergens. Quinoa consists of the seeds of the quinoa plant (Chenopodium quinoa Willd), a flowering plant in the amaranth family (which also includes spinach and beetroot).

Quinoa is a so-called "Pseudogetreide". Pseudogetreide do not belong to the grass family, like wheat or oats, but can be used as grains due to its starchy seeds.
