Join us in protecting biodiversity. A special plush animal collection has been launched in collaboration with National Geographic to support biodiversity conservation efforts. The collection features animals photographed for Joel Sartore's National Geographic Photo Ark species conservation project. He photographs endangered species around the world before they become extinct. Your purchase supports a good cause! Proceeds from the sale of all National Geographic products support National Geographic Society scientists, explorers, and researchers around the world.
One adorable member of our National Geographic collection is Bongo. The National Geographic Bongo Flap Gibbon is 46 inches tall and is on the Red List of endangered species in the wild and facing extinction. The gibbon lives in the Asian rainforests together with its partner and usually two to three children. They can shimmy up to twelve meters in free flight from tree to tree. The main reasons for extinction are: Habitat destruction, poaching and illegal trade. Here, however, the gibbon is made of cuddly soft, blond-tipped plush. The face and chin are dark brown. Inner ears and sides of face stand out in light brown. A fun long dark brown plush adorns the head. The soles are beige. Belly, back of hands and feet are cream. Airbrushing in black highlights the nostrils, mouth and eyes. In brown the face outline and fingernails. Brown shades the paw transitions. With this cute, lovingly designed companion, children will be reminded of the wonderfully pretty animal world, with an exotic looking playmate by their side.
