The overburden consists of limestone gravel, while the subsoil is pure limestone rock. The exposed position and the elevated crest of the Frauenberg demand everything from the vines: on the one hand, the southern exposure, on the other hand, the constantly cool winds that make the grapes stand as if on a train. Together with the soil, which is rich in minerals but extremely poor, and in which the vine must root very deeply to obtain nutrients, the conditions are ideal for a long and healthy growing season. No wonder that the grapes from the Frauenberg are the ones we harvest the latest every year. The Riesling from the Frauenberg is zwa
