Description



The MAGUS Bio 230B microscope was developed for the laboratory and scientific research to view biological samples such as thin sections or smears. The transmitted light microscopy technique (bright field) is used for sample analysis. If required, the microscope can be equipped with additional accessories for dark field, polarized light and phase contrast techniques. The microscope can be used in research areas such as the pharmaceutical industry, medicine, biotechnology, environmental protection, forensics and agriculture.


Optics


The microscope is equipped with a binocular head. The observation tubes can be rotated through 360° so that the user can adjust the position to their height. There is an adjustment ring on the left tube for diopter compensation. The nosepiece with 5 nosepieces is directed inwards - the user can see the objective inserted into the optical path and the space above the stage is free. Four achromatic objectives are included, and the fifth port can be used to mount an optional objective.


The optics are infinity corrected. The basic magnification range of the microscope extends from 40x to 1000x. With additional eyepieces, it can be extended up to 1500x, 1600x and 2000x. If required, a digital camera (not included) can be mounted in the eyepiece tube.


Illumination


The light source is a halogen bulb located at the base of the microscope. The warm illumination reduces eye strain and is ideal for hours of work with the microscope. The 30 W halogen lamp enables bright and high-contrast images with any objective type and microscopy technique (including dark field and phase contrast).


The Abbe condenser can be centered and its position is height-adjustable. A phase contrast or darkfield slider can be installed in a special slot so that you can easily switch between microscopy techniques. The field diaphragm allows you to set up Köhler illumination.


Stage and focusing mechanism


The stage does not have a positioning rack, which makes working with the microscope easier. A mechanical attachment, which can be removed if necessary, ensures smooth movement of the specimen across the stage.


The coarse and fine focus knobs are coaxial (on the same axis) and are located on both sides of the lower part of the microscope. This positioning of the focusing knobs allows you to rest your hands freely on the stage and sit comfortably even when working for long periods of time. Focusing is smooth and requires no further effort. The coarse drive has a locking knob and a focus tension adjustment.


Accessories


Additional devices such as objectives, eyepieces, phase contrast devices, dark field condensers, polarization devices, digital cameras or other accessories expand the possibilities of the microscope. They are designed for the MAGUS Bio 230B and are available on request.
