The standout feature of the Levenhuk 50L PLUS microscopes is their high magnification. With the 2x Barlow lens, magnifications of 64x, 128x, 160x, 320x, 640x, and even 1280x can be achieved. Levenhuk Rainbow 50L PLUS microscopes are equipped with a spring-loaded lens. If this lens touches the slide while focusing, the spring mechanism protects the optics from damage. The microscopes have robust metal housings, ensuring a long lifespan even with intensive use in schools, universities, or medical labs.

High magnification
The microscope is supplied with three objective lenses. The most powerful lens (40xs) features a spring mechanism to protect the optics. Even if the objective lens is accidentally lowered too far and touches the specimen, it retracts to avoid damage. Also included is a 2x Barlow lens that doubles the resolution. The microscope provides magnifications ranging from 64x to 1280x in its standard configuration.
The optics are made from high-quality, highly transparent glass. The lenses are coated with a special anti-reflection multi-coating. This ensures that the image is always bright, clear, and high-contrast – which is especially important when working with high magnifications.
Combined lighting – suitable for various samples
This model is equipped with two LED lighting systems. The lower lighting is used for viewing transparent samples. This allows for the examination of bee wings or making microorganisms in aquarium water visible. The upper lighting enables the observation of opaque objects like paper or metal. This model can also be used to work with semi-transparent objects when both light sources are turned on. The brightness of the lighting systems is adjustable.
Ergonomic and reliable
The microscope has a very reliable and robust metal housing. The head, which is tilted at 45° and rotatable 360°, ensures maximum comfort while working with the instrument. If multiple people are using the microscope at the same time, they can simply rotate the head without having to move the entire microscope.
The microscope can also be used outdoors, as the lighting system can be powered either by mains power or standard AA batteries.
WARNING: In most European countries, the mains voltage is 220–240 V. If the device is to be used in a country with a different mains voltage, a voltage converter must be used.
