Use and care

Natural rubber is an organic product that provides a stable base for all yogic practices. The soft microfiber top layer ensures comfortable, warm contact with the body. The absorbent top layer offers better grip when wet.

The first dog down may be a little slippery due to cold, dry hands. However, the microfiber top layer will very quickly increase its grip as your body warms up from sweating hands and feet. Soon, the grip will become very stable and firm. If you want to speed up this process, please vaporiser a little water on the downward-facing parts of the dog for a perfect grip on the first sun salutation. The distinctive water-absorbing feature of the suede like microfiber top layer will help practice towards balanced and strong postures.

The mat can be machine-washed on wool or hand-washed at low temperature, but for best durability, it's best to hand-wash this mat with a tiny bit of natural soap, or no soap at all. After washing, you can wrap your yoga mat in a large towel and squeeze out any excess water. Hang the mat up to air-dry.

Please note that rubber is a natural product that biodegrades over time. Exposing the mat to direct sunlight, outdoor heat, rubbing or washing heavily will accelerate this process.

Natural rubber contains no toxic chemicals and leaves no toxic odors. However, please bear in mind that natural rubber itself has a natural odor. You'll probably notice it the first time you train (it smells a bit like the rubber erasers you used at school) and it will fade over time.
