Jörg Döring was born in 1965. The artist began painting in his teens.
He soon became a professional painter, starting in 1985.
In the 90s, he became known for his oversized paintings of cartoon heroes such as Mickey Mouse and Donald.
For almost 15 years, Jörg Döring has been particularly interested in the technique of screen printing on canvas, without ever abandoning "traditional" painting. Much of his work consists of superimposed silkscreen prints applied by hand and enhanced with paint. Her works are a real variety of colors. The artist also combines silkscreen with patinas and acrylic paint.
In these works, the artist likes to convey something familiar and dreamy, like New York, Hollywood, the great icons of American and European cinema, such as Brigitte Bardot, Andy Warhol, Romy Schneider, Ursula Andress, Marilyn Monroe, Sean Connery, to name but a few....
He plays with images, colors, words and combines them to give us a reflection of our culture.
His works express optimism and positive energy, humor and imagination.
