Mobile Cloud Companion DIR-505 is a portable router with a plug-in design that allows you to share your Internet connection and files. At the same time, the device is so small that it even fits in your pocket. Tiny yet versatile, it offers all the features of a router, access point, wireless network repeater, and network storage - in a device that easily fits in the palm of your hand.

Different operating modes for all your needs

The Mobile Cloud Companion handles a number of different operating modes, allowing it to adapt to any usage situation. In Router mode, you can share your broadband Internet connection via wireless network. Just plug it into your cable or DSL modem, and you can share high-speed Internet access throughout your home or office. AP mode lets you instantly spin up a wireless network, ideal for sharing files during business meetings, for example. Repeater mode extends an existing wireless network. So simply place the device anywhere in your home to extend the range of your WLAN. WLANHotspot mode allows you to share an Internet connection provided by a WLAN hotspot. This allows you to use a wireless connection in a hotel or café on all your devices. Additionally, in Repeater mode and WLAN Hotspot mode, you can connect any device to the Ethernet port and include it in your wireless network this way. Connect an Xbox 360® or Smart TV to the DIR-505 to give these devices wireless access to your router while improving Wi-Fi coverage in your home.

Connect a USB storage device to your DIR-505 to provide storage space

for sharing.

This allows you to easily share files between computers and other devices connected to your network. Connect a USB hard drive to stream the contents of your video and music library to your laptop, or use a USB flash drive to share presentation files with members of your team. The easy-to-use web interface allows you to upload, access, and play files stored on the USB drive. The SharePort™ Mobile app for mobile devices lets you back up photos and videos stored on your device. You can even manage shared storage by creating separate user accounts to access the USB drive. For example, you can share your music with all users while protecting your personal files from others. The DIR-505 can also be used as a media server on your home network. It has a built-in DLNA server that allows you to stream media content stored on the USB storage device to any DLNA-compatible playback device, such as PlayStation 3® and Xbox 360®.

Easy to set

up, easy to use

Setting up the all-in-one Mobile Companion is simple. Plug it into the wall outlet, connect to the router via the wireless network on a computer or mobile device, and follow the instructions in the built-in setup wizard to configure the DIR-505. You can also use the QRS Mobile app for mobile devices to complete the step-by-step setup process.2 4
