The evening rituals of Yumi Yay families
A set evening ritual benefits your child's night's rest and yourself. It helps your children prepare for the night and calms them down. Are you still looking for a relaxing and soothing evening ritual for your child(ren)? Maybe we can inspire you with the evening rituals of our test families. They incorporate Yumi Yay read-aloud stories and colorful nightlights into a cozy moment before bed.
An evening ritual doesn't have to be a long one. After all, it is an open-ended moment that is repeated daily. A moment that is accessible to everyone (including grandparents, babysitters...) and easy to follow. A short, cozy ritual is often enough for children to calm down before bedtime.
Ine, mother of Noah (3) and Leo (2 months)
After a day full of impressions, I insist that we calm down together shortly before bedtime. Time for dim lights and a book. Before we delve into the story of Otti, Tika, Finn and Billy, we always look for the matching Cover of the main character from the reading book. Then Noah crawls onto my lap and enjoys the adventures of the Yumi Yay friends.
Reading aloud while sneaking extra deep breaths of Noah's scent as I bury my nose in his hair are "Our little moments." These little moments before bedtime are very precious to me.
Melissa, mom of Louis (3), Liv (2) & Charlie (1)
Louis is quite fond of Otti the elephant. Just before he goes to sleep, he gets to play quietly in bed with his night light for 20 minutes. This evening ritual puts him and us to rest and then he also knows when it's time to sleep.
Lara, mother of Philippa (5), Romée (3) and Gabriel (newborn)
The nice thing about the Yumi Yay nightlights is that they are wireless and don't have a cord hanging on the wall. So my little ones can safely take their lights to bed with them and light up the room while they play and snuggle with their lights.
Lisa, mother of Noah (1)
Noah discovered Yumi Yay when he was 7 months old, and he was immediately taken with his Billy light. We tell him every night that Billy is going to sleep too. I give the night light to him to take to his grandparents' sleepover. That way he always has a solid point of reference in the dark and is reassured.
Liz, mother of Charlie (3)
Charlie needs structure and set rituals, so it's really nice that we can include happy figures like this in a cozy moment. Meanwhile, when she sees her nightlight, Finn, she knows it's time for bed.
Marinka, mother of Lot (3.5) and Sep (1)
Yumi Yay has become a regular part of our evening ritual. One of the kids turns on the nightlight, we talk a bit about how the day was and finish with a read-aloud book.
