Andres JAROCELLS B.V., based in The Hague, Netherlands, is known for high-quality lithium-ion batteries of the lithium iron phosphate (LiFePo4) type. Components such as lithium cells, casings or electronics are sourced from selected producers in the Far East or USA and then hand-assembled into finished batteries in the Netherlands. The brains behind Jarocells is engineer Jan Vermeulen, with whom we are personal friends and have a good exchange of information. Jarocells' customer base is very demanding. Therefore, most of the batteries go to the industrial sector. Jarocells is also authorized and exclusive supplier for the Dutch Armed Forces. In very many Dutch ambulances, Jarocells is also used. Only about a quarter of the lithium batteries go to the marine sector, which is particularly close to the heart of passionate sailor Jan Vermeulen. As a water sportsman, he is well aware of the problems associated with insufficient energy on board. Overview Lithium-ion batteries & chargersThe
lithium batteries from Jarocells are lithium iron phosphate batteries (LiFePo4), which have excellent characteristics in terms of service life, performance and safety. With high longevity without sacrificing performance, Jarocells' lithium-ion batteries are more than just an alternative to traditional lead-acid batteries. A lithium battery can be recharged approximately 2000 times and has a lifespan five times longer than a lead-acid battery.
With advanced electronics for safety and control, the lithium batteries are equipped with: Bluetooth and battery computer. For example, with the Jarocells app, the battery status, current power consumption, charging current, temperature and usage history can be read from any smartphone or tablet. The safety aspect also plays a special role with Jarocells lithium batteries. Thanks to the built-in battery computer, the battery is monitored precisely: overcharging, temperature too high and too low, current too high, etc. In the event of danger, the battery switches itself off independently so that no safety risk can arise.
With the Jarocells lithium chargers, the batteries are charged very quickly. For example, the BT-20.12 lithium battery with 20 Ah is charged in just one hour with a 20A charger. The chargers are available in two versions: Lithium LiFePo4 charger, IP22 and Lithium LiFePo4 charger, waterproof IP65. In addition, the batteries provide continuous drive without power loss when the battery is almost discharged.
But series connection or parallel connection
is
also possible with Jarocells lithium ion batteries. In parallel connection, two batteries with e.g. 12 V-20 Ah are connected to each other. This doubles the capacity to 40 Ah.
In
a series connection, on the other hand, the voltage (V) is doubled to a total of 24 V.
And Jarocells batteries can offer another major advantage over lead-acid batteries: low weight. For example, a conventional lead-acid battery with 100 Ah has a weight of approx. 30 kg. In contrast, a comparable 12 V-50 Ah lithium-ion battery has a weight of only 6.8 kg
