Description
The Subream is a small insect lure for streams that perfectly imitates a stonefly, for example. It was developed by Japanese fly fisherman Mitsuaki Wada for spin fishing with fly or insect imitations. The lure features a rather subtle action without strong wobbling.
After being cast, the lure floats like an insect that has fallen into the water, positioned at a horizontal angle on the surface, and it turns sideways to the current with a light flow. When the angler gently pulls on the slack line, the Subream rotates 45° towards the rod tip and then quivers back and forth.
When retrieved, the lure swims just below the water's surface, sending out fine vibrations with its slightly wiggling rear end.
