TAMIYA XF acrylic paints are made from water-soluble acrylic resins and are ideal for brush painting or for application with airbrush sprayers. These paints can be used on polystyrene (PS), ABS, styrene resins, polystyrene, wood and all common model plastics. For better adhesion, we recommend priming the respective material beforehand (TAMIYA primer spray e.g. 300087044 primer white). The paint covers well, flows smoothly and is easy to mix. Before hardening, the paint can be washed away with normal water. Colors marked "XF" have a matt finish, while the colors marked "X" are glossy.

For application with airbrush sprayers (0.25 - 0.50mm depending on the nozzle used), the XF colors should be thinned with TAMIYA X-20A Acrylic Thinner (300081020, 300081030 or 300081040).

The XF colors can also be thinned with the TAMIYA Lacquer Thinner (300087077). This enables a faster drying result and a harder surface finish.

Adding TAMIYA Paint Retarder (300087114) will give you a smoother paint surface after drying (max. mixing ratio 1:10).
