Michters US1 Straight RYE - Whiskey\TheMichter's distillery in Louisville, Kentucky was the first American distillery to be established in the United States in 1753. Prohibition in 1919 and other events forced Michter's to close its doors to the public. In the 90's, two businessmen joined forces and relaunched the production. Michter's is not looking for cost reduction in its production and invests in each step of production to produce the best American whiskies: - Air-dried wood and not in the kiln, toasted wood before being burned, put in cask at 51.5% (instead of 62.5% in the industry).
